Contemporary pheromone research and studies.

Pheromone research has been ongoing since Human Pheromones were first discovered in 1986 by a team of scientists in Philadelphia. The discovery wasn't the first time the existence of human pheromones was claimed, but it was the first pheromone research study that was persuasive and accepted.

The pheromone research was a controlled study in which they were able to prove that men and women release chemicals into the atmosphere that affected sexual behavior and that pheromones could be extracted. This can be considered the breakthrough that has led to the development of pheromone products that you see on the market today. The researchers were able to freeze the pheromone extracts for over a year, thaw them, and apply them on the lips of women achieving results similar to those observed in nature.

Pheromone research continues today with the development of artificial human pheromones and further observation of the effects that pheromones have on humans. For example the recent studies which point to a relation between Male Pheromones and the female menstrual cycle. It is said that male pheromones act as a catalyst in producing more luteinizing hormone in women throughout their menstrual cycle, especially before ovulation.
